Dear professor and classmates, the theme of my speech today is the importance of smiling.

Do you know? May 8 is "World Smile Day". As for smile, it is a very common expression in our daily life. When we feel happy, smile comes naturally. Even though it'sso common, the charm and function of smile is far more than you think.

Firstly, smile, not only is a kind of expression, but also a kind of emotion, which canclose the distancebetween people. If you meet a stranger for the first time, smiling is the most appropriate way to say hello, which is also the catalyst of harmonious interpersonal relations.

Secondly, smile can convey strength. When I saw the medical staff who cut off their long hair to fight the COVID-19, their eyes flashed with tears, but they were still smiling. I was shocked by their strength. The original smile really has the power to give people a knowing blow.

Thirdly, I think smile represents hope. When you face setbacks and difficulties, please smile at yourself in the mirror and smile will bring the fire of hope, until you ignite fighting spirit.
